Summary: On August 5th, Mark Post had created a new type of beef. Cells of the cows were extracted from their tissues and grown after six weeks in the lab. Creating the first beef patty to be made in a lab. It was later on made into a burger by award-winning chef Richard McGeown in London. The point of this invention was to feed the growing population and improve the environment. Opinion: In my opinion, using this type of beef might lead to different advantages in certain ways. One advantage is that it can supply meat for the growing populations without having to expand a great amount of land just to grow more cattle. Another one is that it has the ability to improve the environment. For example, having to raise more cattle lead to more methane being released from cows, which leads to air pollution. However, there are also certain disadvantages, there are also certain disadvantages. For example, the people who raise cattle to make a living will lose their jobs. Another example is that it is very unnatural. Some people do complain about that problem. This invention might become disapproved and would cause a bigger uproar.
